Start thinking of ideas for planning our neighborhood block/street party. Who, what, when, where, and why. We should probably have a plan. Do you have any ideas on how to begin planning this event?

I like how nice and quiet it's been around here. Maybe people are starting to get the hint...
Last night the dogs woke us up again. It stirs up the entire neighborhood. Our dogs don't bark unless they hear all the others making noise outside. We may need to get together as a group and address the problem directly with the home owner. We need our sleep!
If you feel comfortable enough, you might want to speak directly with the dog owners. If not, you might want to call Animal Control and make a complaint. Nothing is going to change unless you are proactive...
I talked with an owner of noisy dogs and they said, "the dogs are used for security, so what good is a dog who doesn't bark?" (a cheap secuirty system?) This is obviously flawed logic, as a dog that barks for no reason randomly throughout the entire day and night does not really alert the homeowners of a potential problem. The sherrif came out and let them know that they are required to put an anti-bark collar on the animals. There is a petition form that can be obtained through code enforcement website, it is filled out indicating where the problem exits, then the code enforcement sends a letter letting them know they need to address problem, then if problem is not addressed, it is up to the original petitioner to let animal control know about it, and finally the dog owner is issued a citation. This is the only way to handle the problem sometimes-a monetary fine. We don't want to be contentious with otherwise good neighbors but if dog owner sees it as simply a county code being enforced it does not need to get personal. Hope this helps.
Can you be more specific of the barking dog location without disclosing person information? Plus, include the link to the petition you are referring to so people can also get involved if they desire to do so. Thanks.
